I had the opportunity to work with director and writer Teresa Decher, creating the opening title and credits for her short film “The Exceptionally Boring Life of Mallory Plumber”.

Synopsis :

A young woman investigates a mysterious package sent to her by mistake.

Teresa shared these specific key words: "Vintage", "Wes Anderson", "Stylized", and "Lines", which was helpful to start to conceptualize the project. These are the mind map and mood board I created before jumping into creating the still frames.

For the font. I ended up using “HWT Artz” which is a Sans Serif and Heavy Uppercased font. It evokes a bold early 20th century European poster lettering.

We found a sweet spot mixing patterns, titles and cut out images from the short film. The final frames connect each member of the crew with key elements that appear in the short film. It was really fun exploring ideas for this project.
